Sometimes Elo has trouble sleeping. She wakes up in darkness, her family all fast asleep around her. She doesn’t want to wake them, but her mind begins to race and she feels afraid. She’s afraid of the dark, afraid of what could be lurking in the forest, but most of all, afraid of the loneliness. When everyone else is asleep she feels that she is the only being in the whole world…

Elo scrambles up the highest hill. She takes her seat above the treetops, up in the clouds. And she gazes upwards. She looks up at the sky with its millions of sparkling stars shining their light out into the universe, at the moon spilling its mysterious glow down onto the earth, and at the vastness of space. And Elo doesn’t feel so lonely anymore. Because she sees that there is so much more out there than we can ever imagine. We are all under the same sky of stars, staring up in wonder and amazement.
